1 SOLBERG-MILLS
Petter said he thought the dust got into the radiator because the stones and dust were horrendous on the corners and the front spoiler was broken.
2 HIRVONEN/LEHTINEN
Said he had no overheating problems unlike team-mate Solberg but Im going slower than Petter. Said he is learning the drive the twisty stages.
3 LOEB-ELENA
Had throttle problems on SS5 and SS6. Pushed the car into the Service control.
4 SAINZ-MARTI
Went into SS6 with the rear left tyre worn down to the canvas. Sainz said at Service that he didnt know why the wear was so severe.
5 GRONHOLM-RAUTIAINEN
Had clutch problems before SS5 and SS6 but had no trouble on the stages themselves. Fortunately all the traffic lights were green on the way to Service!
6 ROVANPERA-PIETILAINEN
Had just one puncture this afternoon. No other problems.
7 MARTIN-PARK
Had differential problems in SS5 and SS6; the front locked. The power steering failed on the road section back to Service. Martin said, The roads are getting rougher, with deep ruts and rocks.
9 PANIZZI-PANIZZI
The suspension is such a problem that I just hope to be there at the finish for the valuable points. (He is in eighth place at present). Gilles said later that now he knows how much the tyres can stand he can push harder tomorrow.
10 SOHLBERG-LINDSTROM
Had no clutch at the end of SS5. Driver said it happened about 15 kms into the stage and from then he slowed down to get through the remaining stage and back to service.
11 TUOHINO-AHO
Im still boiling brake fluid but dont understand why as I dont think Im driving very fast. He had a spin in SS6 and lost time in SS4 but doesnt know why.
12 H SOLBERG-MENKERUD
Driver thinks hes broken something at the back as the car feels strange and theres a very bad clunk coming from the rear differential.
17 WARMBOLD-PRICE
The stages are smoother the second time around but the ruts are deeper.
